They do not stick out, they are almost flush with the front wheel well (only slightly in) and the rear stick a little bit farther in. If you can avoid spacers, you should always avoid spacers...

And the answer is NOT to put lowering springs on the car if you don't have the sport suspension; that "in a way" defeats the purpose as you are lowering the body closer to the tire for rubbing. What I would do is make sure and get the right size tire so you don't rub. For 19" I'd go 245/35R19 to make sure no rubbing, and for 20" I'd go 245/30. Or you could just add the Sport Suspension shocks (since the springs are the same between both models) - see my other post about the part numbers.
do they have any aftermarket coilovers kits for 3.6l cts.

I think Eibach has recently come up with a kit, but I don't have any info yet. It was designed for the CTS-V, but should work on the regular CTS's too. Another option is the FG2 suspension system from the CTS-V, or add the regular CTS-V suspension...

i have 20x8.5 on my CTS, and i think robertCTS is referring to me on how i had to roll the inside lip or the rear wheel wells so it wouldn't rub into my tire. it literally was slicing little peices out of my tire! in conclusion, i like how the 8.5 inch tires look on it. it gives it more of an agressive stance. check out the attachment.

M Star 013, what size tires are you running on those 20x8.5s? It looks very clean.

P245/35ZR20 Nitto Tires. The ride is still pretty smooth. I mean, there IS a difference from stocks, but i've grown acustomed to it. Plus, i think the 20's set it off very nicely. it's all about your personal preference in my opinion.

Do you think the 275 might stick out? Do the EV-Rs come in varying offsets?

Yes, they come in 35mm or 45mm. Right now my 8" wide 40mm wheels stick in decently in the rear. I'm thinking of going with the 45mm offset in the rear, which would only add a tiny more "sticking out" in the rear, but tuck them more in toward the inside.
