Poll: Does your CTS make abnormal huming noise?

This is a follow up thread to

It seems like this is a common issue for cts and dealers are rejecting it saying that they can't duplicate the noise.

I had a noise in my CTS but I'm not sure whether it was more a howl or a whine. The sound was speed sensitive and was very loud. The differential was also noticeably leaking oil. I took it in to the dealer and they ended up replacing the entire rear end. Took them more than a weeks to complete the job but now there is no sound.

If you are having problems and a dealer wont fix or can't duplicate, take it to another dealer or go for a ride along with the service tech. Since they don't drive the car daily, sometimes they can't notice a sound that *wasn't there when I bought it*. The rear ends seem to have a few bad runs. Mine was replaced, Mbai2's was replaced, as well as *many* others on this board.
