More Horespower and Torque for 3.6L

Remove this ad
currently the only HP/TQ modification i've made to my '06 3.6L has been a Volant CAI

so my lease will be up in march of 09 & until them i dont think i'm gonna be investing a few hundred dollars in an exhaust system and then having to pay for its install & to have it taken off before turning the car in.
most of the other performance (HP & TQ) mods that i can think of also require an investment of a couple hundred dollars.

Who here as a 3.6L CTS with a Volant Intake & access to a dyno?

Odysseus & HaveBlue as well as some others stepped up a while back & shipped CAI's across the nation & installed them on their CTSes & dyno'ed them to find out exactly HOW Much of an improvement each one produced.

basically, i'm hoping the CTS community will work together and make some progress from our current situations.

*calling all people with the 3.6L engine And have access to a dyno
*calling all people who have the 3.6L CTS as well as a Volant Intake And access to a dyno

What are you asking? There's a thread somewhere that shows the dyno sheets for a 3.6 with each of the various CAIs.

Re: More Horespower and Torque for 3.6L

with an extra 40-50 bucks, you can buy the Filter from a k&N (larger than the cone that comes with the volant)

it was suspected that the larger cone draws more air and produces more power...
it was also mentioned that a Volant + K&N filter combo may be the best choice as far as HP/TQ/Sound is concerned. However, this idea only came about AFter the "experiment" was over and HaveBlue & Ody had left the dyno shops.

so i'm saying, lets try this out, if for 40 bucks we can make more power, why not try it?
but before everyone runs out to purchase a k&n filter for their volant, lets find out IF it is the best producer & by HOW (things that a butt-dyno can't do).
