Anyone looking to take over a lease on a 2006 CTS

Remove this ad
There is a chance that I will be trying to get out of my lease. Is there any here that is, or knows anyone interested in taking over a lease on a CTS. This is a VERY unique opportunity. If you are interested, please contact me for ALL the particulars. Not sure yet, but just feeling the situation out.

Here are just some of them:
2006 CTS 6-Speed Manual, 2.8L
~12 Months and ~10,000 Miles Left for lease.
Car is Silver Smoke (Gray) with Gray inside.
Base Model.
Monthly Cost, ~$275/month, taxes INCLUDED!
Car is lease through GMAC, so lease transfers are possible and relatively easy (cannot transfer to people in AZ)-

If interested, please contact me via PM, email or phone.
You will not be disappointed with this one, trust me. (Some extras may be included to facilitate the transfer)

Thanks-

Scott

I bought a lease out early.

I don't think you want someone else taking over your lease and possibly ruin your credit rating. I'll never lease again.

Scott--another option for you would be to simply sell the car outright. Good luck to you.

He can't RT. The title is in the leasor's name. I think he would have to buy the lease out. I did that once in one of my stupid moves. Typically that would cost more than he could sell it for. They call it "Upside Down".

Leases suck. It's just like RENT. You never build any equity in the car.

Excuse me, Bob, but you are incorrect. I leased a Lexus in 2002 and sold it before the lease was up to Carmax. It's the same as any other lease buy out.

How did you do that RT? The Titles and plates are in Carmax's name. Here in Ohio I had to even get a release from GM to transfer my D VADER plates to my new car. My title was in GM's name. A lease is like rent in that you don't own the car. Does that very from state to state? I think GM had a program where you could turn your leased car back in early with the understanding you would get another GM car. That was only offered to individuals having a GM lease.

Re: Anyone looking to take over a lease on a 2006 CTS

I drove it to Carmax, they gave me a check and I handed them the keys. Apparently they paid off whatever balance with Lexus to clear the title.

If you transfer a lease through the GMAC your name is off the lease. They will charge you $595 for that.

The lease/lien holder was Lexus/Toyota. I called them to get a "payoff" on the vehicle and they provided it. I then negotiated with Carmax to sell them the vehicle because they offered me $4500 more for it than the trade-in amount I was offered on a new car. Apparently the bluebook value vs lease residual worked in my favor. And that's the end of that story.
