Im such a tease! Heres a pic of the headers Im working on!!

Remove this ad
Well guys, this little project of mine is going great! I have received a picture of the actual headers. I have blocked out certain things so dont mind the white blocks. These are for the 3.6.

Im expecting final word on Monday as one of my contacts is out of the office until then.

Heres the basic plan if we have a go on this:
I will get one set of the headers. A person who i trust and know will have the option to buy them at or near my cost. Said person will need to have their car dynoed before and after the headers are installed. If we are satisfied with the results I will become a vendor and start selling the headers. That is all.

AND NOW WHAT WEVE ALL BEEN WAITING FOR, LONG TUBE HEADERS!!!

Re: Im such a tease! Heres a pic of the headers Im working on!!

Nick,
Are those for another car than the CTS? Those are not shorties and look to be to long and would be past the point of cats. The cats traverse back to the rest of the exhaust immediately. The steering column is a real big issue for clearance. Even with shorties you have to literally pound them in place. Have these actually been installed in a CTS?

At this point it looks like they should work. Im still ironing out the details. You dont have to put the cats right where they are now. You can use long tube headers and put the cats after that. You would likely need new cats or a shop that can straighten your existing cats.

I dont want to give out too much info right now.

It is my understanding that long tube headers provide the best scavenging/power gain.

Sorry to tease ya Urby!

FU Flip!!! BWAAHAHAHAHA That shit was comedy though!

You need to have the oxy sensor bungs close enough to. Mine have then on the front of the cats. Has this guy done a dry run and tried to squeeze thes mothers in place? Does he have the capibility to dyno them to see what the numbers look like.

The 3.6VVT is the same width as the NorthStar engine. The CTS-v V8 is actually narrower and more room for the long headers.

Tough assignment Nick. Keep after them!

Hehe, you said bungs!!! I think it will work. Dont worry, extensive testing will be done before anything is purchased.

The bungs are like round nut welded to a hole in the tube. The oxy sensor screws into it.
