Question cts v rear end and cts rear end

Remove this ad
I wrote this in the V section maybe a coupe of you guys can help out in here. All i found out fro mthe V forum was the V has 3.73' gears, and the same housing.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Whats going on , I need a little bit of help. I'm in the process of building a Sc for the non V cts. I was wondering what rear end does the V have? Isn't the V rear end ,and the 03 3.2L Rear end have the same gear ratio ? So would that mean the rear ends are similiar? if not what is the ratio, and what not. Any info can help thanks

Re: cts v rear end and cts rear end

The CTS-V rear is 3.73:1 gearing, limited slip, and has a beefier housing (more and deeper ribs). It will physically bolt in a CTS, but I don't know about the axles. I know the inner axles are beefier in a V, and may have different splines. Rumor has it that the new Pontiac Solstice with the Ecotech four cylinder uses the same housing as the V rear end, with optional limited slip but with 3.91:1 gears. All but 3.2L manual CTS's use 3.42:1 rear end gears.
