What do you mean by your audio connector? When you unplug from the factory radio or from the new aftermarket radio?

Re: 2004 Aftermarket Radio DIC Combination

Been reading a lot of post but can't seem to find the right answer... Does anyone know of an aftermarket double din head unit to replace the factory unit in a 2004 Cadillac CTS (BASE) and maintain all the DIC controls and information as well as the steering wheel controls with or without additional modules...

I don't think it exists, have to do what several of us did, cut out the cd player and save you DIC.

Re: 2004 Aftermarket Radio DIC Combination

Not trying to hijack the thread, but I have an idea based on my future intentions.

The non BOSE stereo (IE separate DIC display) unit could be gutted except the DIC board and display. This leaves room to install at least a single DIN unit. Use an interface kit to keep the chimes and AMP control.

I am actually hoping to put my Car PC from another vehicle into my CTS which uses a 7" touch screen. The only piece I will really put in the stock stereo shell would be the touch screen. Yes, some front face modification will be necessary.

Regardless, this sounds doable and may be an option for the OP.

This does sound like a good idea and it's very flexible as a car pc is future proof

Excellent. I've only seen Mitch's Bose mod.

I'll have to look around to see if I can find specifics on the approach I want to take.
