I seem to think the 'solution' to this problem is rather simple....MAACO or not......you take your damn car back up there.....park it in front of their door...and DEMAND that it's fixed properly.....and you aint leavin til they start it...and if they don't finish..they'll be hell to pay....call the BBB, their headquarters......then get a lawyer and sue them.

Point is...you needed to be back up there.....starting shit with them..and getting them fixing it. Ther'es nothing else you can do, except make them fix it. Good thing it wasn't me...

PS...I know this thread is older than dirt.........whatever happened with all this tho? Did they fix it???? or what? lol

Re: Horrible paint job! What do i do? ---Photo's

I cringe every time I hear someone say they're taking their vehicle to Maaco. It's a crapshoot. Some people are pleased with the work done there, while others emerge with similar results to the OP's and never get any satisfaction. I think perhaps the people who are pleased with their work may suffer from "different" standards.

Maaco has done for body work what Long John Silver's has done for seafood.

eta: IMO you're left with one of two courses of action:

1. Document the shabby work, have it completely re-done by a reputable shop, and take your chances in civil court to recoup your expenses from Maaco.

2. Take it back to Maaco and demand they do better.

Re: Horrible paint job! What do i do? ---Photo's

Why did you paint it in the first place?
That's a pretty new car to need a paint job.
Sorry to hear about your problems, good luck.

Re: Horrible paint job! What do i do? ---Photo's

I rate paint jobs by how close you can stand to it before the mistakes become evident. Maaco, Earl Scheib and the like do 10 foot jobs. As long as you stay 10 feet away it looks fine. Good professional shops do 3 foot paint jobs. In my lifetime I've seen one 1 foot job that would even stand up under a magnifying glass. It ought to be intuitively obvious to the most casual observer that there is a good reason why one guy can get $5000 for a paint job and another guy is only asking $1300. It's also telling that you'll see the guy getting $5000 at the same location for thirty years and the guy getting $1300 has a new shingle hanging outside for a new owner every time you drive by. I managed an aircraft engine overhaul shop for more than 10 years. We charged top dollar for first class work. I got complaints about the bill but I never got complaints about the work. A sizable percentage of my customers went with the low bidder and then came to me later to get the mess cleaned up. Some of my proudest moments came when a customer would complain about a bill and then word would get back to me that the airplane was for sale and the featured item on the for sale sign was that my shop had worked on it.

As morbid as this sounds I would be surprised if the OP was even alive still. Somebody has likely killed him by now. And no, Im not joking.

Thats my thoughts right there. Im sorry the results arnt what you expected. I took my Crown Vic (ex-police car) to get it painted about 6 months ago. Was white, now burgundy-red'ish.
That is Maaco. They do a fast job. I wouldnt take my Cadillac to them, i really dont care about the ford (my beater). Best of luck to ya, hope you get it fixed. Thats a beautiful car.
