This might be a good opportunity to do some port matching and polishing to make sure there aren't some steps getting from the intake to the heads and from the heads to the exhaust. With a good Gardner-Denver die grinder, some carbide burrs, and some Pam spray it'd be duck soup. You might make a difference. Like the senator said, a few billion here and a few billion there. Pretty soon you're talking real money. Engine mods are the same thing. A little here and a little there. Soon it adds up. |

"yeah, you and 457 other guys" its no fun. | I disagree! There may not be a challange in building a LSx engine, but all the HP is fun for sure! I hear what you're sayin though. There's hundreds of places that sell all sorts of crap for those engines. It was cake making 400+ rwhp in my Camaro. No challenge to it at all. The only decision I really thought about was which cam I wanted for it since it was my DD. There's next to nothing out there for this 3.6, so it's good to see people like you looking for every option out there for the people who want a better performing CTS. Even if 20hp isn't a huge gain, it's still a start. Quote:

H/C jobs need tunes on LSx. | I think you're right here. I would bet this mod would benefit from a nice custom tune. I know LSx cars gain hp in stock form from custom tunes. (sorry if I reference LSx engines too much! Other than old SBC engines, that's all I've worked on!)
This mod + a cold air intake + exhaust + custom tune could = a nice increase! |

There's gonna have to be an aftermarket demand for performance add ons & mods soon. Right??!? Other than the air intake & cat backs. |

Port and polish is too. I am excited to see things going in that direction. It would be nice to see the aftermarket step up and make some cams. Maybe Camaro will fire this up?
Does the direct injection motor get all of its power from the injection alone? That's hard for me to believe. Maybe it gets some of that gain from heads and/or cams? |

Very Interesting. I understand just about everybody's point of view. I would try this mod ONLY if A) The parts were cheap from a salvage B) There was an EXTENSIVE write up C) My car were out of warranty. Having a friend around thats a mechanic would be a plus as well. |

Next year I am planning nitrous. This plus a 100 shot...... DROOL!! |
