Flyin-Ryan...give up allready. Noone cares. The fact that he actually has an idea of how an engine works in real life situations should be enough to let him post what he likes. If he posts something horrible, mods will take care of it. If its just something that bothers you, ignore it. | Azn, I was just using your post as a vehicle for my own post. I should have been more clear.
Flyin-Ryan, you're right. I don't have a CTS. The '04 Red Line Lux Sport CTS VIN #1G6DM577940140644 in my garage is an anniversary present I gave to my wife in July of 2004. She lets me drive it once in a while as long as I keep my dog out of it. I bought it for her because the CTS is the best touring sedan made in the world today. It came from the mold of the old european Grand Touring cars made for the royalty to drive around mowing down peasants. The bumper is a little low because they keep flyin over the hood.

But when someone comes on here with an idea you love to just rip it up. That’s not help. There is probably a better way you can help with your knowledge. It really just confuses the heck out of me that you’re even on this site in the first place. My theory is that you’re up there in “God’s country” laughing your butt off when people like me get frustrated with your negative anti-productive posts. If that is the case then that’s really funny and I and many others, that feel the same way, deserve to be laughed at. But if you really are just a know it all that loves to play devils advocate every chance you get then that’s just kind of sad.
No hard feelings I just would like to understand your thinking. I know you know a lot about everything car related, probably engineering as well. And that’s awesome and your storys are worthy of a good book. So its all good. I just need to relax.
By the way, Koz, what do you drive?
Azn, I'm done. |

I once turned my 88 Couger from a 5.0 to a 5.0 HO. It was very simple to work on that motor. Ours will be much harder. All I did was buy used heads, upper and lower intake, and cam off an 87 Mustang. Working on that car was a breeze. You could swap the cam without taking the motor out or even tilting it. I did the whole thing in less than a day. Im sure it would have taken others a lot less time. It gave very good gains. |

Anything you could do to that thing awakened demons. Here we have an engine that is pretty high strung already and every horsepower is hard to come by. It takes a little here and a little there and add'em all up. What a guy needs with this setup more than anything else is a rich spouse that'll indulge 'em or a sponsor. Back when stockers had crappy exhaust systems, oil bath air cleaners, and 150HP out of 300 cubes anything you did was a benefit. Now you have to do a little all over it. |
