My car won't start when it's cold

When it gets below 50 degrees, my car won't turn over. The brake light and theft light are the only lights that come on in the cluster. I know when it's not going to start by looking at the odometer because it doesn't come on. Tried to jump it and that didn't work either.

Re: My car won't start when it's cold

I say have it towed back to the dealership, especially since you have an 05...whatever is wrong should be definitely covered by your warranty. I have an 03, it started right up last night and it was 8 degrees at the time. Good luck

You may have to call our friends over at Superior Cadillac in FYV. My 05 is cranking right up in Rogers. Are you in warranty?

Your car is designed to start at -27F after a cold soak with no preheat. On top of that it's designed so that after you start it at -40F you can go right to wide open throttle and it will run smoothly. This is straight from a GM PowerTrain engineer. Mine starts at temperatures down to minus 56F.

I don't know why it isn't starting. I guess I'll just wait for a warm day to take it in.
