You know what's weird though..I was lookin for the pics the other day and couldn't find them, and I sat there thinking the exact same thing.."I thought I took pics to post them already?"
I'll see if I can find the thread I posted in (If I did) so I don't hijack this one
*edit* Silly Fly. I did make a thread with pics, and you even posted in it! Just to refresh your memory: http://www.cadillacforums.com/forums...-amps-2-a.html

A shop should charge you no more than $50 in labor to connect a new head unit. The unit I have is about $900, and similar units with navigation run all the way to $2500.
It's really not hard to install the head unit with a harness. Connecting the right wires, afew bolts etc etc.
Let me know if you need the part numbers or any more info.

I would really appreciate it if you can include more details/links to the metra dash kit, harness, and part numbers.
Thanks. |

LOL....Adios DIC.........Im sooo glad I still have mine, I use it all the time.......The only real benefit of adding this over the stock navi is coolness and being able to control more of a sound system.....To me the negatives out weighed the positives.......If I were going to do it, I would take the DIC of the circuit board of the radio, keep it installed, make a custom faceplate for the DIC and radio and put the new radio right under the DIC.....now that would be stellar...........Damn the infamous Mbai2 did that and its incredible.........but his was a carputer not just a headunit........ |

I plan on doing just that FlyFlip. I'm going to cut the CD changer off the radio and create a hole big enough for a Pioneer AVIC-Z1, 4"x7"x6.5". My local audio store installer says he has the harnesses to utilize the bose amp and retain the Onstar and wheel controls. The DIC won't be touched at all. |
