    bottom insert on E&G grille

just an added note to my previous post;the $495 included the bottom mesh insert which is longer and narrower than on the V. My overall opinion of the V is it sure isn't worth the $51295 sticker price. The interiorwith the aluminum trim looks like crap and the dual stainless steel exhaust tips are too far in to even be noticed and can't compare to chrome ones.

The $51k sticker also gives you world class performance. Seeing as my fully loaded '03 stickered at $42k, I would say that's not bad.

As for the bottom mesh insert, if I bought the E&G, I wouldn't install it. One of the design subtleties of the V mesh is how the two are of equal length. The E&G with both installed looks odd at best. I'd only use the top half. Am waiting until I can see the E&G in person before making my decision (love the look of the CTS-V one).
I would like to see a lower mesh made for the standard CTS' that only extends as far as the openings in the bottom. That would look much nicer.

Interesting point. I never noticed the difference in the width of the lower grilles. However, the V has finished, body-colored bumper between the lower grille opening and the DRL / foglight opening. The normal CTS mainly has a blank grille opening between the lower grille opening and the opening for the lights. I don't know how it would look to have a narrow grille with blanks on each side of it versus covering the opening and blanks with the E&G lower grille.

Dood what are you smokin! 52K over the standard 42K sticker for everything you get is really not too bad when this car can compete with **SOME** vehicles 20,000 more!. I agree with you about all the aluminum poop, I cant stand that stuff in ANY make of car, but still the engine upgrade and the suspension and handling upgrades alone justify the cost in MY mind... (and ill be buying it used in 2 or 3 years when its taken its 40 percent depreciation hit anyway...LOL) :coolgleam
