Anyone work at a Caddy dealer or for GM?

Hi, I ordered a CTS-V and I was wondering if someone here can run my order # to see if I have a firm build date and estimated delivery date yet. I can't get into why I don't ask the dealer I bought it from to do it, other than I'm getting weird vibes and I want to make sure I am the one that drives off the lot in it. Thanks, Scott

    Order # is GWGZ66

Call Cad Directly 1-800-333-4CAD have them assign you a Cadillac Concierge. They should be able to tell you (cased on your order #):

A> Your TPW (Tentative Production Week).
B> If past that week (then) if your vehicle is in transit.

Then your order # should also appear yout your MSRP sticker.

Re: Anyone work at a Caddy dealer or for GM?

Thanks for trying. I called and the guy had no idea what I was talking about and referred me to Onstar consierge (sp). I asked what my order status was and put me on hold to check. He called my dealer and they told him the same thing I've been hearing for days, that the mgr is not in right now to check on it and they will call me tomorrow. He dealership also told me they were going to call today.:rolleyes2 All the salesman had to tell me was they ran it and there was no change, even if he didn't run it. I don't wanna bitch and get anyone in trouble. I only ordered the car on Jan 26th. I was told a couple weeks after the initial order you get a firm TPW and a projected delivery date. ( I know firm TPW is an oxymoron, but thats what I was told). Its kind of important to me to know if the car is coming in the beginning or end of March. Thanks again, Scott

Scott, sounds like they do not have build allocation yet. The order number is possibly still in their unscheduled order bank. This pool of vehicles the dealer wants built, but the scheduling for production is based on allocation. Allocation is based primarily on the dealer's sales of the standard CTS, the number of unsold V-series on the ground will affect the allocation. I would ask them about the allocation, and how many are in front of you. Also, if they have one on the ground already, they will be in line behind a dealer who has none.

Re: Anyone work at a Caddy dealer or for GM?

Thanks for the info. Their Allocation I was told is 1 and I am their one and only order for one. The order was submitted by them on the 26th of Jan. and order was accepted by GM on the 27th with a TPW of 3/1/2004. Does that sound right with the info you found? Thanks for looking.

The Vehicle Order Detail says that the allocation group is CTSV.

That info sounds correct. The TPW week is the production week the car will be built. Then time is allowed for the vehicle to be quality checked, then the shipping time. They are checking these cars as carefully as the XLRs. If a problem is found with one vehicle, the entire build run is re-checked. It sounds like you are right on schedule.

Scott, it will be worth the wait. Trust me. Think Z06 Corvette with four doors. I have one of the lead unit build captured test fleet CTS-V's sitting in the garage right now and it is a hoot. Pretty cheeky for a Cadillac.

You guys are getting me more psyched. The Vette is fun, but I have to drive it alone cuz one of us has to watch our 2 kids. It will be fun driving a 6 sp again too.

    GNSCOTT,

Definitely worth the wait. I've put over 1,000 miles on mine and it's incredible. This car is positively drunk with torque and handles like a car half its size.
