    Help removing the Ashtray door

Like many, I use the ash tray (Actually it is now a velvet like covered removable compartment) for holding my change.

Somehow I seem to have has a coin slip behind the tilt out door.

Every time I go around a corner - the coin rolls from side to side behind the compartment. Needless to say, this is getting a little annoying.

How can I release the tilt out portion so I can get behind the door?

    Thanks

If you pour Coca Cola back there it'll get sticky enough to glue it down and stop the noise.

Yes, pull out the the velour piece and unscrew the one bolt. Definitley take care as their are endless places for small objects to dissappear, including the bolt. I had a paper clip get back there and I could here it every time I made a hard turn . If the coin is not clearly visible try a pointed vacumn nozzle attachment and maybe the suction will get it. Good Luck.

Don't pull the door out, take that whole small panel off.
Lots of info on how to remove that panel.
If you take the door out, it will be nearly impossible to reassemble it without breaking something.
There is a hidden screw behind the ash tray cup, then it "just pulls" off.... (yeah right!)

DO NOT remove the ashtray. I've done it and am quite good at putting it back in, but pulling the ashtray door off by itself is a HUGE mistake. Disassemble the center unit and pull it out properly.

The whole bottom section will pull off and allow access to the back of that section. There is a 7mm bolt behind the little ashtray that unscrews and makes that part much easier.

Re: Help removing the Ashtray door

I'd sure appreciate knowing how to disassemble the center unit and pull it out property. I have a handful of coins that fell through (someone stole the felt cup and I didn't realize it until I had thrown change in the ashtray bay.) Driving me nuts, but I am visual and would love to see a pictorial instruction on that. Anyone have such?
