Tint advice in Northern VA?

I am thinking about getting my windows tinted in the next couple of weeks, I live in Northern VA where the law is 50% fronts and 35% rear. I want to get 35% all around as I don't want different shades. Has anyone had any problems in VA with tint like this? Can you pass an inspection with it or do you have to take it off to pass? Any suggestions on where to get it done? I live right in Arlington, the Shirlington exit off of 395.

If anyone has pictures of a Blue cts with 35% tint that would be appreciated too.

I have 20% all around but I don't live in VA. But I work in Crystal City and the surrounding areas and I have never had a problem with the police, so I doubt you would have a problem with 35%.

As far as a place to get it done? I got mine done in MD so that probably is a little far for you, but I would suggest heading over to Lindsay Cadillac in Alexandria (also a member here on the forum). They are a great dealership and they are always posting on here trying to help the forum members out. I wouldn't be surprised if they knew someone reputable that could get it done for you.

Tint is not something you want done by just anybody. There is nothing worse than a bad tint job

I live in DC and im always in VA. Never had a problem ever. Got pulled over for speeding (56 in a 55, not a lie) and the cop didn't even say anything about the tints. I have 35% all around(car is Silver Smoke).

Thanks, Actually Lindsay cadillac is within walking distance from my house so that is where I go and I am actually dropping it off there on Monday for some work as well so I will ask.

56 in a 55, that is crazy. I got pulled over this year on 395 in rush hour traffic right where you are in front of the capitol building for suspected littering. Apparently a corn husk blew in front of my car and they thought I threw it out. And that area is not very easy to cross 4 lanes of traffic to pull over in either. I told them it looked like a corn husk to me and I didn't do it and they let me go.

I am very active on the 300m club website. One of our VA members has been busted twice since he moved to VA THIS YEAR for his 35%. He hates VA.

billa, I live in Woodbridge (about half an hour south of you), there's a nice place along route 1 near Route 234 if you know where that is. It's quite far for you, I haven't actually been there but I hear they know what they're doing and for a fair price. If you want more info just tell me, I'll drive by. I'm going over to Lindsay Cadillac on Tuesday, you should go on Tuesday with me =], it'll be fun haha.

Get 5% all around and just try to get away with it, be tight.

talk to the dealership first but i think there is LA tint on rt1 in alexandria.

i'm jumpin in this one kinda late ... whats the verdict?? did you go 35 all the way??

...i got 'platinum' 35 all around (not long now though) and haven't had any problems. i dont know anyone really down here who have had problems. my cousins both have f150s done 20 all the way around and buddy of theirs has 5 all around and 20 on the windshield and hasn't had problems either. we're all down in VB though...

I actually haven't gotten it done yet, I spent my mod money buying a luv lower grille, V-upper grille, and faithinwarbird's 20' tis 07 wheels. I asked Lindsay Cadillac when I was there and they gave me a number for a company called super stripes that they have used for tint work in the past but they were unsure if they still do it. I have not called them yet but I plan on it eventually. Other things just came up first, like our damn VA personal property car tax they just got me for $400.

yes it is super stripes at 703-768-2705. Let me know if they do tints still as well. I was al Lindsay kind of late and there was only one person there working the phones in the service department and she wasn't really sure if they did it anymore but said they do good work.
