I think it looks like shit. But looks are subjective, so....
The car is 1 or 2 things. Its extremely unsafe...generally this after-production convertibles buckle at the slightest hint of a side or head-on collision. 2nd'ly, it probablys packs on another 200 lbs on an allready heavy car. That's bad for handling, stopping, acceleration, gas mileage AND the extra weight is reallly bad if the conv. is as weak as they typically are.
But hey, if you like the car....it's like that line from Field of Dreams, "If you build it..."
PS. I reeeeeeeally hate that saying "don't hate the player, hate the game"...thats just a cop-out
The design was for a sedan with 4 doors. Now change it to 2 doors and a back roofline more like the G35 coupe and then I could see it working better and being more of a fluid and finished look.
With a well thought out and carefully reasoned response like that, I had to pause and check my initial response. Was I too quick to judge? Were my impressions formed out of previous bias? What about sympathy to the evacuees and survivors of the Pacific tsunami?
Then reality kicked back in and I realized that a convertible four door CTS is just fugly. Sorry, I have to say "Hurk… hurl" to that. Maybe in a coupe, but even then, the Art & Science theme just does not translate well for reinterpretation, IMHO. The XLR is sweet, because it was designed with a drop top, the CTS looks like an idiot who lost their hair-piece without a roof.
To each their own… but watch out for the fashion police, they are coming for you!
Can we please stop all the talk about convertable CTS's? I had a bad dream last night that my car got stolen and when I got it back it was a convertable. And I won't even talk about how my sister was driving a dump truck the whole time.
I like it alot, i dont think its fugly at all, but the car prob is less safe, but it looks good man post more pics, i wanna see how the b pillers where alter, did they beef up the bottom frame? is the top electric
Topless cars should be long and low. If it was built from the factory as a topless car and given two doors and a longer rear deck, that would be nice. Interesting car though.
