Calling All Ballast Experts!

OK first off, I apologize for all these stupid ballasts posts. I should have just gone to a dealership and gotten one a long time ago, but I like to fight the system. Anyway, I found a salvage yard in CA with an '05 CTS that will sell me a ballast with a 30 day warranty for $100. So here are my questions.
1. Is this a good price? (I figure it is for an '05)
2. Will an '05 fit on my '03?
3. Does anyone have a part number for a ballast? (preferrably '03 and '05, or maybe they are the same)
4. Can I install it myself? (I consider myself fairly smart)
5. Or should I just end the nonsense and pay $315 from the dealer installed?

i have set of xenon headlights that i purchased from year ago. If you want the ballast only, i'll let you have em for cheap

Are they the OEM ballasts? or aftermarket? What year? How much?

oem. I think they were from either 03 or 04 cts. Let me know what you think is a fair price for the ballast

I really don't know, the guy I know is selling 1 for $100. Is it lower than that?

Hey Devil what yr is that ballat out of?? See the Ballast I've seen out a CTS dont look like that.. Here's a pic of them, they're completely slim, no hump on the back like the one u have posted.

Well, I just spoke with the dealership, and apparantly there is a design 1 and a design 2. Some are thick and some are thin. Did you buy the ballasts to put in your car? Did they not work? Any sort of warranty if I buy these?

i bought the whole light assembly including the headlight casing, projector, bulbs for both right and left. I've plugged them into mine and the light came on without any issues. One of the casing has a small crack inside and it can't hold the projector in place. This is the reason why they're not on my car.
