Unhappy Fluid Leaking out Back of New 06 CTS

Hey,

Any idea what it could be? I know diff is a possibility but don't know what else it could be.

I guess my luck ran out.

I picked up my new 06 CTS in early January. The last few days we noticed wet (oily) spots under the car, but only determined today that it was coming out the back end (rotated backing/fronting into the driveway before we noticed). I made an appointment with my dealer, but they can't see the car until Friday.

Any idea what it could be? Just want a heads up before I got in.

Some background:
I'm still "babying" my car. Slow over speed bumps, slow accelerations, etc. I've only gunned it once or twice around 1,700 miles just to see what kind of acceleration it had, but it wasn't a full-out acceleration and didn't accelerate past 40MpH during those times.

Re: Fluid Leaking out Back of New 06 CTS

Sounds like a broken rear seal which is a differential problem.

Re: Fluid Leaking out Back of New 06 CTS

It's either the diff or (much, much less likely) brake fliud. There are no other "oily" fluids at the rear of the car.

If it's near the center, it's related to the diff.
