Lightbulb Headlight Ballast?

Remove this ad
I took my 03 CTS into the dealer to see if they could fix my flickering HID headlight. They said they put a new bulb in, and it didn't fix the problem. He said it probably the ballast. (like many of you said). Anyway, can you check this link to see if this is what I need? If this looks like a good deal? Thanks

Re: Headlight Ballast?

Yeah that looks to be the right one... here's another pic to look at

Actually after taking a 2nd look the one u linked to looks to be an older version of the valeo ballast. The one I have posted is the correct CTS valeo ballast. It's very thin and fit perfectly under the headlight. That one on ebay looks to thick.

Re: Headlight Ballast?

I'm not so sure Mbai, look at the difference between the ballast I posted and that ballast on Ebay. They're not the same and the one I post is definitely out a new CTS.

Hmmm..you're right. I didn't look at the second picture in the listing. The mounting holes are in the same place but that bulge might be too deep and stick out from under the headlight.

Re: Headlight Ballast?

Well I believe under the OEM HID equipped headlights there is an opening that probably allow that Ebay ballast to fit but seeing as the guy is selling it as final, meaning no returns make sure u ask tons of questions prior to bidding. Just looks like an older version of the valeo ballast imo.

Re: Headlight Ballast?

Thanks for the input, it does look a bit different. Maybe I will keep searching around on the internet. Anyone know of any good places to pick one of these up?

Someone already mentioned this site:

http://www.hidplanet.com/oem.html

Or call around to the salvage yards.
