Bob, you have the volant and corsa IIRC, plus the headers/cat combo (soon?)...that makes it a whole different box of wheaties.

I think you have to agree that virtually every day you learn something new. Heck, I learn something new everyday from this forum. For years people have sought the wisdom of their elders..some societies more than others.
Don't stretch me into those ethnic zones again or I will get in trouble.

Whats a IIRC? and I have one?

Oh yeah, I totally agree, my grandfather is the most reverred person in my books. Brilliant fellow. And I've never seen anyone respond to cituations as smartly as him.
I was just , my bad.

IIRC? 'If I remeber correctly'. I can't believe I'm using internet-lingo now...

Re: 03 CTS 3.2L vs. 06 CTS 3.6L....

I would actually like to race a member here in socal with a 3.6l modded or not CTS, against my 5speed manual '03 3.2l. Anyone up for a late night freeway or street drive.

Re: 03 CTS 3.2L vs. 06 CTS 3.6L....

The 3.2L engine was nearly a full second slower in 0-60 and 1/4 mile times in a bunch of the magazine reviews, even comparing the manual on the 3.2L and the automatic on the 3.6L.

The 3.6L engine with automatic had:

6.4-6.6 second 0-60
14.92-14.99 1/4 mile

The 3.2L engine with manual had:

7.3-7.53 0-60
15.7-15.88 1/4 mile

Then there's this article that describes the negligible gains from intake and exhaust on the 3.2L engine.

http://www.motortrend.com/features/p..._cadillac_cts/

"The upgrades team to deliver a claimed 20-hp gain and yield a decidedly more aggressive sound. It's still no powerhouse, but the engine mods improve 0-60 acceleration by 0.12 sec and lop 0.14 sec from the quarter mile."

My money is on the stock 3.6L.

Thanks for shattering my illusion
Ok at least I can take a 3.2 AT, or your 3.6 with a banana up your Corsa

Re: 03 CTS 3.2L vs. 06 CTS 3.6L....

Regarding the above article posted by skepticman, It is not clear if that CTS is auto or manual and the 20" wheels are a big power zapper. I am sticking to my guns that a 3.2 MANUAL w/out 20" wheels will keep up with or maybe even pull a 3.6 auto. Now a 3.2 with mods against stock 3.6 auto with 20's, no contest,I would put my money on the 3.2.

So FastCTS,
What do you think of the B&B? You're the first I've known to install one. Billy Boat has some sound bites but what are your thoughts?

Re: 03 CTS 3.2L vs. 06 CTS 3.6L....

I got my 03 CTS in Nov. 02 and installed the Volant/B&B in Jan. 03. I'm happy with both. I had "Muscle Cars" in the 50's & 60's and the CTS now sounds like those cars. I'm still a "Lead Foot" and every time I hit it I get heads turning. It might be too loud for some, but I like it.

Okiwont,
You're beginning to sound like Yo Momma in the other thread. We should start our own PINKS!
