I got into my 04' CTS and turned the key and my engine didn't turn over. Nothing from the starter at all. The keys both work with the proper driver information and the radio turns on as usual. Anyone have any experience with this? I would like if at all possible to avoid the dealer since I'm sure I would get ripped off. (Not a fan of the $26 oil change that seems to require you to pay another $60 to get your car washed and also takes 3 hours.) Before I get this thing towed I want to know if anyone has dealt with this before so I can decided whether to tow to my mechanic or the dealer. :banghead:

The fact that everything else is working suggests it may not be the battery. Maybe a starter or solenoid. But usually they give you a moan. No clicking sounds?
Your car is an 04', it should still be under warranty, so how would you get ripped off? And they won't wash your car is you tell them not too. And I don't mind paying the $30 for oil change as I don't trust any third party mechanics here in town with my car (very very few understand the complexities of a Cadillac).
Hey,
I had the exact same thing happen to me this weekend on our '03. Nothing turned over, battery was fully charged, and the radio just turned on. I had the exact symptoms of trying to start the car and not pushing in the clutch. I also tried both keys and the personalization worked on both. I took the wives car, an hour later she tried the key in the CTS and it worked fine. The rest of the weekend, we no problems. I’m about to call the dealership and I’ll let you know what I find out.
Brought the car in and they found codes saying the wrong key was used. The cleared the codes and said if it returns they’ll replace the clutch sensor. Icecat14, what happened with you?
