    Clinking While Shifting

Not while I'm driving but when I shift between P/N/D the car clinks. Is this a u-joint or a rear differential bushing or what?

    Re: Clinking While Shifting

Could be a shifter linkage. What year/mileage is your car?

You can get under the car to observe this, it's actually fairly simple. Just roll under where your shifter is and look at the links (there's a front and back one) wiggle them around and see if there play, or if there's even any plastic piece left between the rods.

Other sources could be front or back flex disc, and as you mentioned diff bushing. I doubt it's a u-joint but possible. These all can be visually inspected from under the car.
