    TheBrown's MonsterCadillac

Alright! So Ikera's "My sh!t Cadillac" thread has inspired me to make a build thread for my CTS.
First off is the base that I have to work with

2003 Cadillac CTS 3.2 Luxury Sport
Every option except heated seats, HID and Nav.

Everything I've done to it so far

    LED Fogs
    LED strip under front grill
    Painted and customized grill
    Plastidip'd 17in stock rims
    AUX input wired into dash
LEDs wired in the front foot wells and trunk to the subs

    Audio setup
    2 Alpine Type R 12D2's running at 400rms each at 2ohms
    Sound Ordnance ported box
    Audiobahn a8000t Mono block amp
Bose system for mids and highs

The plans I have for it

    CAI
    HID headlights with CCFL Halos
    Higher performance brakes and rotors
    Revshift mounts and bushings
    Eibach sway bar
    Fiberglass rear trunk bezel
Aftermarket 17in rims (in black )

    Audio to come!
Custom box ported through the rear deck (5-6 cubic feet tuned to 30-31)
Sky High Audio Cable 0/2ga, 14ga, 16ga and RCAs
    Mechman HO Alt 270amp
    1 XS Power D925
    2 XS Power D7500
2 DC XL12's custom from SHCA
    2 FT1 Black Series (Highs)
4 PWX 6.5" mid range (mids) OR 2 PWX 6.5" mid range in the front doors and 2 PWX 8" mid range in the rear doors
    1 Rockford Fosgate 3sixty.3 processor
    1 Crescendo Audio BC5500D
    1 Crescendo Audio S800/4
    Kenwood DDX371
    Custom door speaker panels

Now the reason I named her The MonsterCadillac is due to my love of the record label Monstercat. I am a lover of EDM and they publish some of the best IMO. I plan on adding decals of their logo and also of the artist logos as well. I will also be using this as a flagship for my little side job that I named Brownies (last name and the name of my grandfathers old mechanic shop) Currently I just do house calls and nothing crazy as far as income. I hope I can use my CTS as a show piece at car shows and the like to showcase my work.

This is not going to be a excessively updated log since I am doing this as I have the extra funds available and taking it all one step at a time. I will be posting any repairs and that as well in this log.

    ON TO THE PICTURES!!

My first mod was adding these chrome strips to the grill (also changing all the gold logos to chrome)

Next came plastidipping the rims since the chrome was looking rather bad

    Re: TheBrown's MonsterCadillac

The installation of the 12's!! Removed the stock 10 and sold it to a member on here

Crappy custom amp box that will be gone eventually

Where the amp used to be mounted (back of the box)

Painted the grill black and re applied strips (need to re do the black now as I didn't think about a clear coat DOH!) Also added some color in the engine bay

Custom LED strip on the front and eventually LED fogs as well. Have the strip wired into the fogs so when I turn them on it turns on as well

    ----------

Installed a new front wheel hub this past weekend

Also a video of the system playing and my little LED set up I have

I don't know man, I wouldn't throw more at a car than it's worth or come close to that, just my 2 cents

They way I see it is that I will drive this till it dies and when it does I can move all the components over to a new vehicle. Not to mention the audio will hold its value much better than the car. It's paid off in a year and I didn't plan on reselling it anyways. I know I can at least get 3-5 more years outta this baby as long as I take care of it. If something happens mid install I'll pull everything out, get another vehicle and start over again. Also with it being my first car (that I bought) I want to keep it as long as I can. Might pick up a beater to use in the winter or something along the way but I'll see how it all turns out.

those subs are awesome! I had just one of them in a ported box that sub pounded so hard the whole trunk was giggling like jello. Would be interested to see how you ran the power to the truck, got any pics?
I see that your PCV system was serviced, did you fix it yourself?

I can grab some pictures once it stops raining here but I have it ran along the passenger side and how can you tell that about the PCV? I haven't messed with it lol

here is a link that might help to explain things about PCV
    http://www.cadillacforums.com/forums...etin-05-a.html

looks like a previous owner cared enough about the car to get it done. My PCV system was completely clogged up when I bought my car

YUP! Looks like the previous owner did have it changed lol I never realized it was different from others I've seen until now. I had actually just polished the plenum before I took that pic. The metal was all dingy and whatnot so took some Monthers polish and it worked great! Just ordered some 0/1 AWG OFC wire for my big three upgrade under the hood and also my timing belt. Figured while I have the front off might as well get the new wires to the engine block and the alt ran. Some decals were ordered today as well for the rear window and side windows

    The 4'x8' MDF

Still need to lower the height by an inch to fit but I'm hoping I'll have it done today

And it's in with my make shift sound deadener until I can order some Second Skin

    ----------

I've also changed all the interior lights with Blue LEDs

And a pic of the subs from inside the car

I also need a shit ton more deadener than what I currently have

    ----------

I know I'm going to catch shit for this but I love decals on my vehicles! Haters gonna hate

    Re: TheBrown's MonsterCadillac

Trunk work was put off due to my Crank Position Sensor going out and had to park it while I waited for the part to come in. I have replaced the sensor and bought a few more things as well.
First the trunk! It's not complete yet but definitely looks better than it did. Still planning on putting a wall next to the sub box but for now just covering the box in carpet to look clean until I extend the port.

Yes I know it's dirty, going to wash and vacuum soon.

I have also got the dash kit for mounting my head unit and I should have the wire harness adapter for it tomorrow.

    Re: TheBrown's MonsterCadillac

UPDATE! Been some time but have gotten a couple other things done.
Got the Revshift insert in my new transmission mount and the whole thing installed. So far I have noticed a small increase in acceleration but now I know I need a new rear diff bushing as well. Will be going with Revshift! I buttoned up my trunk a bit more and even made a pass on a SPL meter at a show this past weekend. Pics and a small video for you all.

    Re: TheBrown's MonsterCadillac

I'm not a huge fan of chrome to begin with. I'm planning on getting new rims sometime as well as repainting the whole car Martian Blue to go with a black and blue color scheme.
