Does your supplier offer these bulbs and ballast. I know i will no longer have use of the Flash to pass if i go with HID Highs....
If you have stock HID's there shouldnt be a problem upgrading the fogs and highs to silverstars, if I remember correctly silverstars dont draw any more power then normal stock halogens, they just have a coating over the bulb.

Oh and yes HID's draw less power then halogens but at start up they draw much higher amps and volts until they are at proper running temp then they level off to lower then halogens. That's why most if not all HID kits sell or offer a wiring harness along with the kit, so you dont overload the stock wiring harness.

i've been thinking of buying the xetronic kit for my escalade, do you highly recomend i buy them or should i try something else?

Re: 6000K HID Installation Complete

The xetronic kit I had was great but I'm using the McCulloch kit now. They're pretty much the same but the McCulloch Ballast is smaller. Also my Xetronic ballast made noises when I turned them on, not sure if that was a problem or not but my McCullochs dont make any noise when turned on. I think the xetronic kit should be fine though. I dont recommend anything above 6000k, after that you just get lots of color and less output.

Re: 6000K HID Installation Complete

Did you get your kit from JDM, if not where? Do they have a blue glare to it, do they look like the traditional HID's (BMW, Mercedes, Audi?).

Re: 6000K HID Installation Complete

Not sure if your asking me but no I didnt get mine from JDM. I honestly didnt like there quality. When I saw someone else's CTS with a 6000k JDM kit it looked off, like they mixed the salts wrong & the color was way to Blue for a 6000K. 6000k should produce a pure white light with a hint of Blue and purple hues not a perdominatley blue light; plus I also talked to the guy from www.japanjdm.com & the guy sounded a bit funny and didnt really know ish about HID's in general. He kept trying to tell me 6000k and up are better and considered upgrades to the stock 4300k, but that simply isnt the truth. If you want the OEM/traditional HID look, go with either 4300k or 5000K bulbs. I'd go to either Xenonpros.com or Xenondepot.com. or even HIDplanet for some OEM equipment.

installation is going to be a pain since you have to remove the front bumper to get to the bulb and housing

Re: 6000K HID Installation Complete

Oh no. You have to remove the bumper?

I had xenons stock on my last car and I miss them. I was sold right up until that comment. I doubt I'll be removing my front bumper anytime soon though.

Can anyone post exact instructions on how you installed your xenon kit on your CTS, please? Please speak slowly and no big words for those of us who are less mechanically inclined.

Re: 6000K HID Installation Complete

Ok, stupid question I know: I understand that if you were to put in stock HID's you have to pull off the front bumper to get to the headlight. Since you just replaced the bulbs and bolted on the ballast, did you have to do that? Dumb question but I just wanted confirmation before I dive in. Thanks!

Did you take any photos during your install? I've seen this kit and I know this brand is very good, but I was always hesitant. Group Buy...not a bad idea.
