    Nav system to factory radio..

Been searching but haven't seen anyone go from a factory nav unit to the factory radio. The nav in my 2003 CTS has about given up and I was wondering what is involved in changing to the factory radio without the nav. Are the connectors plug and play or completely different? Can the OBD codes still be read from the radio? How do you make settings changes with the factory radio?

I have never used the nav since the cd's are so out of date. The 6 disk changer is dead, half the right side buttons are dead. Not worth playing with.

    Thanks...

You can install a base radio with out any problems. Other than having a dealer VIN the radio to your car. The plugs will be the same, but since you have the navi, you'll won't be using the GPS antenna cable. Everything else is plugged in.

In order to keep the obd 2 reader, you'll need to find a 2003 radio. But might as well just to get any radio and buy yourself an obd2 reader.

I just did the opposite with my 2005 cts. I went from Bose 6cd to nav. Trying to get a woodgrain faceplate
I now have 2 extra radios if you need one. I will let go of one for $50.
