Re: 2003 cadillac cts starting problems

Joeykrebs: I know the pain you feel. I just got rid of my 97 Catera that went through 3 (Bosch) fuel pumps in 5 years. I now have a 03 CTS. After the first replacement failed I cut a round hole in the trunk floor (about 10") right above the access hole where the pump is located. That eliminated the need for dropping the gas tank etc. One has to keep in mind that the hole needs to be resealed very tight to prevent fumes from getting into the cabin. Good Luck, Brian

My friend has an 05 cts, was having similar trouble. We got to looking at the battery and noticed it was 650 cranking amps, he put a 850 in and car starts great.
    Worth a look.

Try a fuel pressure gauge. They aren't expensive and I believe you can rent them from most parts stores.

You can also have someone listen for the fuel pump kicking on when you turn the key to run (not start) to know if it's running.

Do you own stock in a battery company, or is there some other reason you've posted this same worthless advice in multiple threads? joeykrebs' engine will start if he gives it ether; if it starts, the battery ain't the problem.
