The only way it would be the cat is if one was really plugged and I mean really plugged I doubt that. The knocking sounds like a miss. That could fry the cat if you keep driving it like that.

You have to get the code or codes and post them ASAP so the board can help you. First I would check you're oil level right now if you can. Do you have any timing chain rattle at the very front off the engine by the drive belts?

The sound is only in the very beginning not at all during any other part of the drive ... I replaced all the plugs 2 months ago ... Oil is fine ... When I crank the car there is no noise at all just smooth idle basically ... Issue is only when I am driving and when giving it gas or slowing down ... I felt like it was a fuel filter clogged up at first but when it got worse so quick ( keeping in mind I drive 300 miles last night ) I was worried it was the cat and trust me I so not want to mess with the cat .. I called every exhaust place and everyone is saying 800 to 1700 and double if it's both cats ( which I thought there was only one) ---------- I do drive a lot thou ... I drive every weekend to see my girl 300 miles down and 300 back se times 2 times a week ...

OP stop trying to fix your car before knowing what the deal is. Go to any auto parts store and get the codes read for free. Knowing is half the battle, not knowing is stabbing in the wide open dark. Once you get the codes then definitely somone here will have a clue what's going with your car. It could be anything right now so no point in guessing trust me.

I understand that I'm just stuck at work trying to narrow it down a little bit .. I have a baby on the way and don't need a 1700 dollar cat issue but if it is that I wanna prepare myself ... I plan to hit autozone ASAP tonight at 530 and figure out more then I'll post on here .. Also I wanted to check prices and part availability so I wanted to get options on what it might be so I could check into that ... I'm on a crazy schedule this week and needed to make sure parts are available

Please have the codes read ASAP before you order or spend a penny on anything.

If it is a cat you will get a P0420 or P0430 code.

I'm pretty sure you've posted the wrong codes, but I believe you mean P0300 etc. Those are cylinder misfire codes. P0301 means cylinder 1 and P0306 means cylinder 6. What I'm thinking is "what changed". You did the plugs and that leaves either an incorrect gap or you didn't put the coil back on properly. The reason I think its plugs and coils is that it seems to affect all cylinders. Just a guess here.
Last time I had to fix this it was as simple as a regap of the plugs and I replaced all coils. Done. Replaced the fuel filter to clear a lean condition code and she purred after that.
Doubt its the cat so stop trying to chase that tail until you address these other issues.

Start with the P0100 code, which is a MAF sensor issue. Remove the MAF and clean it with specially made products for MAF... http://www.autozone.com/autozone/acc...ier=36011_0_0_

The instructions are basic. Remove the sensor. Use the spray. Do NOT physically touch the sensor's electronics. Let it air dry for 5 minutes before installing back into the air duct.

Clear the codes and see what happens.

    Re: 2007 cts 3.6 help!!!!!

You said in post #3 the oil is fine. Did you check the oil like I asked you to do or, are you just going by the fact you had it just changed. These engines have been known to go through engine oil very quickly.

If the oil was low on that 300 mile trip it could have everything to do with what is happening.

I hate to think the worse but almost sounds like a chain JUMP.
Have someone else start the car and you listen right at the front belts for a RATTLE sound.

But please don't spend anymore money at midas or anywhere else. Take it to a Cadillac dealer and for $59 diagnostic they should be able to tell you if it is just FUEL INJECTORS, COILS or the dreaded TIMING CHAIN.
