Gas tank sloshing sound and hard start

    Hello everyone,

I have a problem no one seems to understand!!! I have a Cadillac 2004 CTS 3.6L V6 and it makes some weird sucking/sloshing/"washing-machine-like" noises coming from the
rear passenger area (back by the gas tank) and it can be heard in side the car. I know at one point, I took the gas cap off while it was making this noise and the car acted
as if it wanted to shut off. I dont know if anybody has ever heard of this or seen this before, but Im starting to feel as if I am the only one that has ever had this problem. Noone seems to know..... Also with this problem, when I put gas in the car, it acts as if it doesnt want to start. I will put in the gas and try to crank it up, but it will cut right
back off, then I will try again and it will cut back off. I will have to sit for a couple-few minutes and try again. After sitting for a couple to a few minutes it will finally start butI cant go anywhere- I try to give it gas but it will not move; it will sit there as if in a low power state and then after about 3 minutes I can give it gas and it will go. There is
still that weird sucking/sloshing/"washing-machine-like" noise though. What in the heck is going on??!! Can anybody help- am I the only one with this problem???!!!
Also sometimes when the car is sitting idle, the RPM will start off at about 1.5 then decrease like it is about to shut off.
    HELP IF YOU CAN!!!!!!!!!!!!

Also I would like to add, I don't get very good gas mileage.

Look on here for the evap purge solenoid issues. Yours sounds similar, but not to the full extent.

I've read about people having water inside the bottom of their doors. Check the drains at the bottom of the doors to see if any water is sitting in them.

That's how I would describe the noise and problem adding gas when my purge valve went bad

Thank you guys so much! I will definitely replace that purge solenoid. It is an easy fix. I am praying that is all it is!!!
I wouldn't need to be concerned abut the fuel pump do I?

try replacing the evap purge solenoid, they are not to expensive and quick to change out.
