I was bit miffed last time I took the day off to go see it launch. I sat in my office and watched the live feed from my pc. Since it was too cloudy to see it from my office. |

The fun part will be when she comes back...that double sonic boom is loud! |

I dunno about you guys, but I find it mesmerizing to watch these things take off. It's such an incredible amount of energy! We argue here about which exhaust system is the best for the CTS, and if a Volant is worth it.
The Space Shuttle? IIRC, it's 0-17000 mph in 8 minutes? IWhat kinda thrust are we talking here?
Just incredible! |

The coolest part of a launch is not just the view and the sound . . . it's the rumble you get in your bones and guts from the shear explosive force of those solid rocket motors. You can feel it for miles. IMHO, night launches are the coolest. From Florida, one can see the engine flames until main engine cut-off after 8 minutes . . . when it's off the coast of New York!
Beautiful pic, BTW, CTS4me |
