low oil pressure?

havnt even had my car for a week and i keep getting this alert that says low oil pressure....stop engine now??? i check the oil and its gold and not dark brown and its full....whats going on??

Probably a sensor, but since there is no oil pressure guage, why risk it?
I'd be having the dealer check it ASAP.

yah i am on wedsnday...what also is weird is whenever i park my car i have some type of oil leak in the center of my car...its a really thing oil though...WEIRD

I know this thread is old, but after looking at over 200 threads searching for "oil pressure" this is the only one relevant to my problem.

We have an '04 CTS with the 3.6 engine. I'm attempting to replace the oil pressure sending unit (this will be #3). The first time it was changed by the dealer under warranty, this time I'm on my own. Both times, the unit ruptured internally and leaked oil out of the electrical connector. Problem is, I cannot find the right one! The ones from the parts house (BWD S4204) have a 16mm thread with a metal crush washer for a seal. The one that's in my car has a 14mm thread with an O-ring seal. Counter guys have looked at '03 and '05 models and they all call for the one with 16mm threads. I crossed the part number from my switch (12570798) and got a hit for an AC-Delco 213-1569. I ordered one without seeing it, so I have no idea if it's the right one. Can anyone verify this?

Are there only a handful of cars with this problem?

Zectasy hasn't posted in 3 years, and it looks like it was just the two of us with leaky oil pressure senders. The leaky GM part (12570798) has "made in Mexico" on it, so hopefully the Delco will be different in that respect.

Any chance you peeps with non-leakers could look at your sender and tell me if the housing is brass or aluminum?
