Wink battery replacement with series 78!

I did not want to pay $ 190+ for AC Delco battery or Any 101 series, so I went to Costco and I bought this for $ 85 (I live in canada, so in state It Would Be like 65-75$). Direct fit like a glove! Took me just 10 mins to do it.

I knew that I could install a 78 series without problem in this forum, I love this forum. Save me 100$+
    mattt0305 and Ikera like this.

Did the same thing in my STS. The 101 has even less CCA's than the 78 I got, but yet it costs more??? No thank you.

It does "fit", the only real drawback is that it is a smidge taller so it pushes up on the cowl.

Maybe in the CTS, fit like a glove in my STS, doesn't touch anything, plastic cover fit like a glove too.

Holy crap... Where the heck have you've been?

I have to admit, it depends on who the manufacture is for the battery. On a Wal Mart brand it did push up on the cowl. But on a BJ's brand it does not. As a matter of fact, the BJ's brand doesn't even allow it to be tighten down. I had to put something between the battery and tie down block.

Darn, I just bought a 101 from Autozone yesterday, as my Delco failed within about 4 years. We measured a 78 that the AAA guy had when I needed a jump, but theirs was about 1/2 inch tall so I presumed all cases would be the same. Picked up the 101 after the jump start last night and this morning it was totally dead again. So glad I had the replacement battery on board, but not happy about spending the extra $$. At Autozone, they said the 101 has venting holes not on the 78.......is that correct?

KOT, I'm always around. Just been going through a lot of changes over the last couple years. I am trying to check in more often if I have time.
