Hey guys this is my first post. I have an 03 cts with about 193 thousand miles. Couple weekends ago replaced thermostat and while I had it broken down that far decided to replace valve cover gaskets, spark plugs, and timing belt. Put it all back together and it ran for two and a half days. Shut down on the highway. Tried to restart it a couple of times and made a terrible sound like plastic rubbing. So towed it home took off hoses to intake to get some room to investigate. Timing belt had came loose. So adjusted it. And now will start maybe once in five attempts. And sounds really rough and dies. Have code p0341. Just wondering where to go next? Are valves bent? Can it be fixed?

Well, you could do a compression test, but it won't tell you for sure if the valves are wrecked or if the cams are just not timed correctly. The 3.2 IS an interference motor, so I'd prepare for the worst.

sorry to hear that, that must be frustrating specially after doing all that work on the engine. Do you know what went wrong? was the tension not set right or did one of the tensoners failed?

Tension wasn't set right I'm assuming. Now figured out that valves are bent on drivers side. So now in search of a new cylinder head. Or new engine. Just have to do some checking into prices. Any ideas?

I posted this site in another thread also. Dunno if they ship or not but I've had great luck with them. It's worth a shot if you can't find a similar place locally.

Appreciate it. I guess I just don't know what to do. Do I replace just the one with bent valves? Do I replace them both? Is replacing them gonna fix the car? Do I find a used motor and swap out the whole thing?

Find a good machine shop and bring the head to them to have it rebuilt. It's usually best to do both, better to know both heads are good if the other doesn't need any work after tearing it down that far....again

Sorry few more off topic questions,
    - But what brand timing belt did you use
    - Did you reuse old tensoners or installed new
    - Did you reset the tension or left them as is

I planning a replace a my timing belt soon also, already go "Gates" Belt and water pump
