Sound Distortion With New Aftermarket CD Player

I have a 2003 CTS and my cd player broke so I bought a Pioneer FH-X700BT
and since I have bose I figured I should get this to keep the amp.

The problem is when I turn the volume up it gets distorted when the bass hits so I have to turn the bass all the way down.
Ive tried different EQ settings and tried everything and it sounds great at low volume but when I turn it up it sounds like crap.
It sounded way better with the factory CD player and the bass used to shake my mirrors.

    1. Will installing bass blockers on the door speakers fix the problem?
    2. Would I have to install the blockers on the tweeters too??
    3. If I replace the subwoofer is the Bose amp powerful enough to power it, and what size is it?

Thanks guys for any help I can't find the answers Im looking for anywhere else!

Sounds like, no pun intended, your settings on your Pioneer are too much. Go through all of the settings and make sure that they are set to Flat. Loudness off, staging to off or standard, subwoofer to off (unless you have an aftermarket hooked up).

Check those and let us know what you've found.

From what I found out the stock Sub is 100W RMS @ 1 ohm, if you're going to replace it make sure to get a sub that is suitable for free-air application. I will be trying to install RE Audio SRX10D2 Sub, it's a 10" Free-Air 2ohm DVC sub that can be wired for 1ohm

Nope, I have JL speakers in the doors and tweets and 2 pioneer 10's for a sub. Needed to add an aftermarket amp for subs but the Bose amps still running the doors and tweets with zero issues
