2003 cts reduced engine power when raining

When i drive my car in the rain (13 mile drive i don't hit any puddles at all) it has reduced engine power(barely drives over 5 mph) , the check engine light goes on and a service vehicle soon pops up on my nav screen. This has happened about 3 times when it rains.

Thanks for the heads up on this.We printed this and put it in the glovebox for future reference .

We disconnected the wires to the Ecm and throttle body and lubed them up with dielectric grease .then squirted some cleaner in the throttle body started it up and there is no more engine light, i looked in the hoses connected to the throttle body and they were dirty i am going to try and clean that out this week end and see if there is a loose or broken piece that may allow water to get in. thanks again

This use to happen to me all the time....not even just when it rains but, if its a bit cool out and the car has a frost or fogged windows (aka any condensation/moisture)...I narrowed my issue down to the electric connection via the throttle body and the gas pedal. I usually pull them and spray them out with crc electric parts cleaner, let them air dry...Ive tried the dielectric grease as well but, it hasnt really solved or cured my problem. If I know its going to rain ahead of time I even go as far as duct/eletrical taping the tb connection with a piece of plastic around it as to "waterproof" it lmfao...sad circumstance but, works for me.

Duct tape on a Cadillac? Dude, that sounds just as bad as my coat hanger holding my passenger side muffler up. lmao
