Question SWC Question (again)

Remove this ad
Howdy! This is my first post, as I just got a 2004 CTS two weeks ago. When I got it, my no.3 SWC button would make the CD player go backwards by one song. After I messed with it, it now goes to the next CD. I've read the prior posts on this, but in my setup, "seek" is not an option on any SWC button. I would like it to go to the next song, not the next CD. Any advice?

Re: SWC Question (again)

Reconfigure the SWC. I have an 04 also, but only have a single CD unit, but my SWC key 3 is also used to go back on my cd tracks...You have to go into SET UP, scroll down and highlight and select CONFIGURE SWC keys...scroll to key 3. I believe you should see an option with an arrow pointing to the left that says "< Seek Down". Select that and you should be straight!

Since I have my after market GPS which is used for all music , mp3 and dvd's I use my SWC left 2 are to control my AC speed up and down and my right 2 buttons control the temperatures up and down.

Re: SWC Question (again)

If the function is already set for another of your SWC buttons, it will not show up on the screen. Check to see if another one of your buttons is used for seek. Program that button as something else to make the seek function available for programming.

Re: SWC Question (again)

Thanks for the suggestions, but so far, no luck. Unfortunately, here are my options:

1. preset down (changes CD), source (CD, radio), fan up, fan dn, TCS, phone end
2. temp up, source, fan up, fan dn, temp up, TCS, phone end
3. preset up, source, fan up, fan dn, TCS, phone end
4. source, fan up, fan dn, temp dn, TCS, phone end

Nowhere do I see a "seek up" or "seek dn" option. Arrghh!

Disconnect your batt terminal and go back to factory settings and start over.

Re: SWC Question (again)

So, I disconnected my negative battery terminal, and its all still the same. Is there a code that I can put in to reset to the factory settings or something? Or do I need to take off the positive terminal as well?
