Available power for a subwoofer
I was wondering if anyone had an idea of how much power a 04 3.6L CTS could put out for powering an amplifier? I'm looking to run two kickers at around 1100 rms watts, and I'm hoping it won't take a second or better alternator to power it. Has anyone run a system at similair wattage off their cts? I can deal with some lights dimming once in a while but obviously the car needs to keep running.
Thanks for the help

Re: Available power for a subwoofer
You should be fine, I powered 1800 watts RMS in my last car with a smaller alternator. The key is to make sure you install caps so that the battery does not take those hard bass hits.
