    I chipped my paint!! Arghh!

So, it was a beautiful day in Atlanta today, so I decided to wash the car. Fast forward, I'm wiping it down, so I open the hood to get the crap out that falls in by the windshield......but I forgot to put the wiper back down. It made a nice thump and now I have a chip (of course on the drivers side) on the hood just below the wiper. Its about the size of a pinky fingernail. Here's the strange part. I have white diamond, but where it chipped off, it is a regular white underneath.

Knowing that I have white diamond, I guess I'm just screwed as far as touching up...Am I going to have to repaint the hood!!??!!

I have had good success with the procedure on this page.

Of course, you will have to substitute Cadillac for Toyota. The "White" under the paint is primer. You should do the touch-up just to protect the car for the future. Take your time and you'll be surprised how nice this will come out. I used it on a metallic red Vette, white Pontiac GTP, silver VW Golf, so it works for difficult colors.

Hey Fred... where do you live in Atlanta? I have been trying to get people in the area together - just can't find a lot of ATL people on here... I see them driving around... kind of hard to get their attention, so I just wave...
