Why does GM makes this so hard?
My dealer called me yesterday. He tells me that GM is no longer accepting orders as of last Tuesday. I put the order in on Wednesday. D#%M!!
I stopped in this morning and the choices are:
-Take a loaded 6mt that he has coming in, at about 5K above my limit
-Take a 6mt that is closer to my price point, but not with any of the options I want
-Wait for the '06's
I realize the dealer is now in a tough spot, but he should have done his homework ahead of time. I took my deposit back, and will probably just try to wait another couple of months for the '06's to come in.
i wonder if the Acura guys have this kind of issue...

You shouldn't have a problem if your dealer does a search for what you want. I've done it several times. Matter of fact I did it for the one I have and found exactly what I wanted. Dealers buy from one another and trade cars. Give it a try. I bet you find what you're looking for.

That car will never exist anymore. From my understanding Moonstone was deleted as a color choice for 06. You may want to look at alternate colors?

Well, that's what happens when you wait until the END of a model year run to decide to order.... :rolleyes2
Even if your dealer did know the cut-off date and you got in in before then, sometimes the build schedules get backed up and they have to "push" an order to the next model year. Problem for you is, the Moonstone color is no longer available next year and some of the features/options are changing.

Timing definitely is an important factor in situations such as this.

I feel your pain.
I waited 1 year to take delivery of my 6MT.
It was worth it.

The key phrase now is "Patience, Grasshopper."
I realized that I was getting near the end of the model year. The issue is that the dealer took my money and told me that everything was ok.
When I first started shopping for the car 3 weeks ago, I told every dealer that I wanted specific options/colors, would probably order the car, and would be making a decision "in the first half of May". Every dealer said "ok". None of them advised me of a cut-off date that would conflict with my expectations. :disappoin
Since I want the car, but don't need the car, and am flexible on the colors, I'm going to wait until the '06's are available.

Anybody know what moonsone will be replaced by? I really liked it but apparently it wasn't popular in sales.

That's tha idea.
I'll get a check back for my deposit shortly, so it's not that I am being cheated. But, I plan to push for an '06 with the the options I wanted, at the price I offered for the '05. If they want me to enter the GM fold, they're going to have to work for it.
That new Blackberry color could be interesting. Chrysler had a dark cherry a few years ago that was really sharp.
