    2007 CTS navigation

I need a replacement faceplate for my navigation system. One of the ribbon cables that plugs into the nav screen is torn. It is the wood grain faceplate. Any ideas where I can get one?

You'll have a tough time finding just the faceplate, your best bet will probably be a wreck yard and that is total shot in the dark. Couldn't you repair the torn ribbon cable?

That's what I thought. I am going to try and repair it, but it is torn almost right at the connector, so I have one shot to shave it down and try and bridge the gap. Rather just buy a new one.

Most used parts seller's won't be willing to separate a faceplate from the unit, unless the unit is toast, even then they may not want to do that as it could be refurbished. I would definitely call around to any local salvage yards though and see if they have any unit's they'd be willing to take apart for you.

Mode Electronics (800) 433-9657 does our OEM audio repairs. I don't know it they'll sell individual parts or not. You may want to see if getting an exchange unit is cost effective.

Is it possible to get a faceplace without the faux wood and switch the buttons and ribbon cable out to my existing faux wood faceplate?

Can't see why that wouldn't be possible if you can find one.
