    reverse lens plastic

Ive aquired the loose plastic on the plastic where it its attached to the housing. I be swathed around and our local salvage only wants you seek three complete trunk lid itself. Kinda like a scam but all ether salvage yards here say the same thing. I've looked on Ebay and Amazon but all i could find is the louvered ones . They are ok but not really for me. Id rather replace the entire piece that holds license plate a and its painted the same color as car. I did find one but it was broken and the guy said epoxy should hold just fine. That may be so but it will be holding on someone elses car not mine. Anyone have some suggestions out should i just pull it off clean out up good and reseal it

    Re: reverse lens plastic

in order to beat the inevitable.. i pulled mine off on purpose. i bought 2 tubes of 5 min plus epoxy that when pushed through the attached nozzle mixes as it goes. have your area clean and ready the more clips you have the better but you only need em for about 20 minutes tops for a cure. do a practice dry run. i set my phone timer to 4 minutes so i knew getting close. squeeze-press-clamp. after i had it dried i have some stuff called uv activated filler. i filled in the gap between the piece and the housing, sanded, filled again, sanded fine and painted at a shop. i cut templates out of wide vinyl to match the shape of the reverse light housing and stuck them over the said area. i will post some photos later but it looks sharp and you would not tell the difference from factory finish. i like it alot.
