Have a simple question? Ask here...

We should have a thread, like this, where members can just post to ask simple questions, instead of making a whole new thread just to find out what lowering kits work.

Serious question from me: does Eibach pro kit work on CTS with factory 18in wheels and sport suspension?

In the front, yes. The sport suspension and the performance suspension are load leveling in the rear.

Under the spare tire cover for the list of codes.

Or the dealer for the same list but an explanation of them as well.

...which means I can't change the rear height with the Eibach pro kit?

What does power sliding ruin besides your tires and power steering? I remember once when my car was used for powersliding for about a quarter mile, not continuously, and then all powersteering components broke.

How does the anti theft system work? It doesn't appear to use chip keys like some older cars, but I assume they built in similar functionality so you can't start it with a screwdriver.

Btw, this thread should be stickied ;-)

Actually our cars do use a "chip". It's built into the black rubber/plastic part. The older style keys that you've mentioned were nothing more than a simple resistor. The dealer had to determine what the resistance was of the original key in order to give you a copy. Pick out the proper key with the proper resistance and cut it. Thus the key had to be made for the car.

The newer chips are actually RFID tags. So each one is different. With this route, the key isn't "made" for the car other than cutting it. Once cut, all other keys has to be present to do the programing. Other wise a key that wasn't programed along with the others will be kicked out from the computer.

What does this mean? LOL can I get the full Eibach pro kit and lower all four wheels without trouble, on my 3.6L with sport package?

If you want to lower it with the eibach lowering kit you have 2 options. First you can get fe1 or fe2 rear shocks, or do the Mighty Mouse mod for the self leveling rear shocks.
