    Swapping my CTS???

    I wanna swap my CTS for a 2007 2.8 Engine with 95k miles on it. Is it worth it?

    How are the 2.8 engines?

    AFAIK The 3.6 is the same as the 2.8 except that the block is bored to 3.6 that's it.
    May I ask why you want to do the swap? If it's for fuel mileage I don't think you will see much of a benefit as the EPA rated mileage is reported to be the same. Also if your engine has an issue what is it?

    The 2.8 has worse mpg, trust me. The engine is too small for the car.

    Gotta agree the 2.8 seems to me to be a lacking in grunt . It does move in the upper rpm pretty good but I wouldn't compare it to the 3.6 .. Think the 2.8 needs a higher rear gear . Put some pep in it

    Mine's a salvaged title, and I just wanted a clear one. I think I'll keep it for now, until I get me the newer model. Preferably an 09-12
