    1st Gen vs 2nd Gen

Is it just me or does the 1st Gen sedan look more sporty than the 2nd Gen?
I think in a way Cadillac has reverted back to the classy look for the old folk.

They got it right with the 3rd Gen though.

The CTS is one of a few cars that I like the looks of the earlier version. 1st gen all the way. And it makes my preference cheaper.

I completely agree, and yeah much cheaper lol.
Although to like the grille on the new cts, and headlights.

I also can't stand how the removed the Cadillac logo out of the real taillight strip. They lowered it a few inches, makes it look cheap.

I love the dash on the 3rd gen. It won't be in my budget for a while though as I'm CTS-V or nothing. I'm starting off 1st gen, and will keep my eye out for a good deal on a 2nd gen. For now I'm still learning the ins and outs of my '05.

I haven't seen the dash yet? Do they have it on the website?

How long have you had your '05? I have an 06 I don't like the lack of tech, so I had to take care of that.

2nd gen is large compared to 1st gen but 3rd gen is a winner for sure.

Wow that looks good. I'm a fan of the animations on the dash.

I'm still a 2nd gen fan. The 3rd gen just doesn't do anything for me, and my 1st gen looks dated without the appearance mods..

    My opinion.

The first gen is more of a drivers car and Id rather have a low mile first gen base than 2nd gen base. Grant it the 2nd gen interrior is a huge upgrade but, the front grill and lack of rawness just bugs the hell out of me haha.

    V. Second gen no questions. Unless you tt the first gen. Then its alright ha. Ill probably have a 1g v though after this simply because I can't afford 2nd gen.

3rd gen....its growing on me. I didn't like my first sights of it online though. I think the v will be epic though.

Re: 1st Gen vs 2nd Gen

I'm real happy with my car .
Love the looks; gonna keep it forever .
So much fun to drive .
Myself, with a V it'd be like giving a Chimp a loaded gun ... lol

I'm really not a fan of the new extended headlight-onto-the-fender look in the new models .
It's contrived, no function imo .

Re: 1st Gen vs 2nd Gen

I really couldn't say; I got a 2013 loaner overnight once, but the suspension was not set up the way mine is .
I also didn't check what it had for power; it didn't seem like it was a 3.6 ; then again, it was the Family Sedan version of an '013 CTS; rode like a marshmallow .

    Apples and Oranges ...

Pulled from; http://www.zeroto60times.com/Cadilla...mph-Times.html so unsure of exact accuracy...The 08+ DI 3.6 does have just a few more ponies to offer, 255 vs 304, and about 20 more lb. feet of torque, but it does weigh a few more pounds too.

But, after saying that I owned a 1st gen and test drove a 2nd gen 3.6....I'd take a 1st gen anyday if looking for a fun car to drive...the 2nd gen beats it hands down in interior build but it just isn't as enjoyable to drive...

On paper... the 2nd gen beats the first gen, 3.6 vs 3.6, by about 3 tenths of a second. In real life... I'd expect this to be dead even. On average, I've seen both cars run very low 15s and high 14s.

As for V1 vs V2... On paper, its 12.5 vs 13.1... 6 tenths of a second and something like 7mph trap difference. In real life, the V2 will consistently kill the V1 stock for stock as long as the V2 driver doesn't goof the launch like a genius. The V1 is notoriously difficult to get out of the hole. On average, I see people running mid 13s in the V, and V2 drivers cutting mid to high 12s stock.
