    Chrome exterior window trim PICS

Went and grabbed some 1/2" and 1/4" universal chrome trim for the windows and some glossy black pillar covers.. Always liked this look, it should pop even more once I have the tints redone (20%). What do you guys think??

I actually opened this thread with the sole purpose of posting "no" for when I inevitably see chrome pillars... But thankfully, I was wrong. I think this looks great.

Free tickets to the gun show? How generous of you!

Where did you get the pillars?

    Funny enough...

This was back when I first bought the car in 06. Always hated the chrome covers on the pillars!

Actually, I agree in part. All black wheels can look awesome on say a white or red car with black accents. IMO
That said, these being the stockers, I was just sick of the alloys, so I plastidipped and glossified them until I find rims I like again. I have a set of these that were on the car for a little while. But I destroyed one of them (damn CT potholes!), and can't find any singles to buy. Zinik Z18. Black/Chrome Lip.

You gotta give the people what they want! Haha. eBay FTW on the pillar covers.

I'm not sure what you are saying. You can learn something new everyday!

If you are enquiring about my sunroof, it is aftermarket, installed by the original owner. That is why it pops open rather than going into the roof.

They came black, regardless of option. Someone had put those chrome pillars on, and OP took them off and did his own trim.

Do the stock pillar covers come of easily? I am taking a few parts off my car to get the car painted and I want to remove the pillar covers to paint them. Is it just the screws on the inside of the door that hold it?

yeah they come off quite easy, 2 screws inside the door edge when you open the door and I think one more somewhere close by if memory serves me right might just be 2, be careful of the plastic insert at the top not to break it though, then it slides out, had mine out to paint it after straightening it out, when I bought the car it had stick-on chrome awesomeness, it looked so pimp with stick-on vent on the fender, it added 5hp instantly, especially the fact that the fake hole extracted no hot air, stick-on pillars and door handle covers, they were the first thing I removed when I got the car home.

The edging doesn't look to bad though, but not for my car.

Re: Chrome exterior window trim PICS

Been thinking about doing this to my car. I had a g35 before that came with the chrome around the windows stock, and when I got it tinted it was beautiful. I was thinking doing the 1/2" for the top though so there is no black showing and 1/4" for the bottom sill. Looks good though. No idea why cadillac didn't so it for this generation in the first place
