    Exclamation 2007 CTS 2.8L Non-Bose

I have recently been having a rough idle issue and have brought it to Cadillac multiple times. Here are the excuses I was given on different visits for why it is happening:

    -all CTS' idle rough
-the fuel I purchase from Costco is damaging (despite the fact I use fuel system cleaners)

Cadillac replaced the ECM with a refurbished one and cleaned the injectors/valves for carbon deposits. The car rode very smooth after this but still idled rough. So, I took it back... this time the excuse was:

-the compressor on my A/C is constantly kicking on and causing the engine to shake and make my car idle rough and was told that is normal

This is unacceptable and there has to be something wrong. No Cadillac I have ever drove in has an idle like this nor has the engine rocked randomly. Surely there has to be a way to pinpoint the cause of the issue without having the Check Engine Light come on or the car breaking down on the highway. I even have a Mechanical Repair Policy on it.

Help! Thank you for reading!

Since you say that you having random rocking. Then I suspect that you are having a small misfire. So small that it won't throw a code and therefor it won't be in the computer's memory when it's scanned. To be to diagnose this, you'll need to have a scanner hooked up to it when doing a "live scan". Meaning that it will be able to see the misfire as it happens. For me, the misfires nearly always happened at idle. It was sublet, but it was there. It turned out to be the coil pack for cylinder number 2. Replaced the coil pack on number 2 and I haven't had a misfire or rough idle since, going on 4 years now.

    Thank you for the replies!

@djkdawg: I had it replaced at the delaership, so I presume they did this.

@Kingoftypos: I want to say they replaced a coil pack a few months ago. Maybe the coil pack was defective?

I have contacted Cadillac Customer Services at 800-458-8006 and they are discussing with the supervisor and service manager. If they call me back and tell me they can't do anything, what should I do? I am not mechanically inclined and must rely on mechanics for actual repairs.

I was told I would receive a call from Leo, the Regional Customer Relationship Manager, on Monday the 15th. I have called twice since Monday and left voicemails every time without any call back.

All I want is for my vehicle to operate normally and not misfire, waste fuel, and potentially cause more damage and it is like pulling teeth to get anything done. Seriously, what type of customer service is this?!
