    Snow tires

Do any of you out there live in the snow belt?? I live in Northeast Wisconsin and already have one winter with my CTS under my belt. This car performed horribly in the snow with the 17" V rated low profile tires. I would like to buy snow tires for this winter season and was wondering if anyone else out there has purchased snow tires and could tell me how the CTS performed with the snow tires and what brand of snow tires you purchased.

I have already bought a spare rim set of the 16" painted aluminum rims that come on the base model CTS. (I currently have the polished aluminum 17" rims that come with the luxury sport package.) All I need now is some snow tires. All the research I have done tells me that the snow tires will make a huge difference in the handling of this vehicle in the snow. I have narrowed my tire choices down to the Nokian Hakka Q or the Kuhmo Izen's.

Any discussion on this subject is much appreciated.

    Re: Snow tires

I have snow tires for my Q, and although I havent used them (I got it just after winter was over in Feb.), the previous owner said that with my studded BFgoodwrench studded tires and 2 50lb bags of salt or sand in the back, it was like an SUV........

Id get a set of studded ones for the rear, and a set of regular ones for the front.........
