    Front windshield weather stripping question

Has anyone had an issue with the weatherstripping on the top of the front windshield coming loose? The reason I ask is because after going through the car wash today I noticed the seal where the glass meets the roof was out of place several hours later. Is this piece glued somehow into place on the windshield or does it just kind of fit in there?

Had the same thing happen to me after a windshield replacement. I was driving and luckily my sunroof was open and the trim came into the car. Took it back and they said it should have been glued down. He also told me that the seal for the windshield is not done by that trim piece.

Yes I have and they said I need to go to a windshield repair shop. After google searching this issue it seems more common than I originally thought also.

    arogers260,

If your windows have been modified from the original factory windshield, the dealership may suggest taking it to a windshield repair shop due to warranty parameters. If you need any additional assistance with this matter please let us know.

As far as I know its the factory windshield but I'm not the original owner so I can't say for sure. But they never asked me that, they just basically said they don't do this type of repair.

I just had this happen to me this weekend. I just used some 3M black weatherstripping adhesive and glued and pressed back into place. Seems fine so far.

Mines cracked in driver side, like the metal inside stripping is showing.

I had a guy at a local glass shop look at mine and he fixed it in 5 minutes for free

I'm going to look into a shop around me to get it fixed most likely.

Let me know if that holds up through a good car wash.

Happened to my 06. I keep epoxying it every 6 months ? At least it's not only me that's experienced this.

I've noticed it has become a VERY common issue after google searching and all others on here that its happening to. Maybe customer care can address this issue along with some of the major issues such as tranny cooler lines just blowing off. Another thing that kinda bugs me is why there isn't any kind of gasket for the oil cooler cover other than just some silicone sealant. Kind of off topic but oh well.

Update, have been through several high pressure washes and all is well! That 3M stuff is where it's at.

Half of the strip snapped off while I was driving on the highway. Does anyone know the part name/number so I can order it?
