Rear pass. window rolls itself down when I turn the car.

    Title should read:
Rear passenger window will roll itself down when I turn my car OFF and roll itself up when when I turn my car ON.

It's been raining a lot here I hope it isn't related to that. Any ideas what could cause this?

Monday bump. It's really annoying having to roll up my window every single time I turn off my car.

How old is your battery? I sometimes get this while my windows are rolling up and I turn off car.

If I'm looking at it right the date shows 9/06 so 7ish years?

What's the average life of a battery? Just started my car battery is 14.7 volts

5 years is your typical car battery life expectancy...If you're going longer than that you are running on borrowed time.

On my wife's old minivan, a broken ground wire caused her door locks to 'lock' when it rained. Continuously. To get in the van, you had to time it just right when you keylessly "unlocked" and grabbed the handle and yanked the door open before it locked itself again. So yes, water could be the culprit. Hers would stop when it was dry for a day or two.

I found the ground wire under the passenger's side carpet, in a trench in the floor. Water would seep in from under the hood.

I know this is not funny, but it sounds like you are on the receiving end of a wonderful prank.

I would start with checking fuses and ground wires. Consider getting a new battery. Start praying that it is something as simple as a fuse.

Look at your volt meter when the car is off, not while running. Your voltage will be high 13's low 14 because the alternator is running then. Id bet battery is 90% of the issue.

O'Reilly Auto Parts says they only have one in stock, and its a "vented battery" with 660amps for $169

    Does this price seem right?

No...You shouldn't need a vented battery, at least I don't think so. I had to have one in my 2001 STS as the battery was located under the rear seat...I never had to buy a battery when I owned the CTS, I am sure someone will chime in with some more info.

Thanks, I really dont want to drop that amount on a battery. Hopefully this battery solves my issues, I cant afford to troubleshoot a CTS electrical problem.

Did a little searching for you, sounds like a group 78 with side posts will fit fine.

I am a laymen when it comes to car batteries. What is a Group 78?

Yep. That would be a 78 series...

I'm running a 75 series in mine. My CTS battery was dead, pulled the new one out of my (rarely driven) '94 Camaro Z28, put it in the CTS, and been using it ever since. It's the same height as a 78 (slightly tall), but narrower in width.
