I know this is a dumb and subjective question, but I hate noises.....I am giving the Raybestos advanced a try, and they came with the "Pad Grease", even a diagram showing you where to put it on the shim. I have always been told you can get chatter or noise if you don't use the "Brake Quiet" silicone glue stuff. I skipped it on my last install (Volvo) and sure enough got some noise and had to put the "Brake Quiet" stuff on. Which should I put on these pads?
Thanks, I am going this route. I realize it isn't rocket science, but I hate wasting time. Tearing it down more than once is a waste of time. Thanks guys, going to use both.
I'm sure the stuff that comes with the pads is just fine. That stuff isn't rocket science, it's just some grease to dampen any vibrations of the shims.
Are these the ceramic ones? They dust very little but have a weak bite. For everyday driving they're fine but I wouldn't say they're good enough to lock up your wheels in emergency braking in hot & dry weather. Not that you should, mind you, but because of ABS it lets you have that extra edge when you need it most.
I will get it done in the coming week. I drive 40k a year, so I was hoping for low noise and lot's of bite. They should be good though....
